Nubia South Belfast Eagles and The Recy Young Women’s group both met at the Fashion Show in March. As the groups were keen to work together New Belfast sourced extra funding to make this possible. The girls all aged between 12 –16yrs used various different materials such as recycled plastics ,wax, news and billboard paper and various synthetic fabrics to create a dramatic one off costume.

The young designers had great craic on the night with our photographer Sharon Watson as she inspired them to model a variety of poses in the park.
On the Lisburn Road people couldn’t believe their eyes when they saw our models recreating their version, of the famous shot of the Beatles walking across Abbey Rd. Many onlookers chatted to our models and were amazed to discover that they were made from paper. This project was a great success and groups are planning to work with each other again.
