New Belfast runs a variety of projects which focus on particular art mediums and/or cultural and social issues.
Belfast Wheel:
Public community sculpture - at the end of each project Belfast Wheel aims to have created a permanent piece of public sculpture.
Masque:
Dance, drama and carnival arts workshops - performance arts facilitated by experienced artists.
Poetry In Motion:
Community poetry and literature workshops - at the end of each a publication is produced from the contributions of the participants
(note: encompasses Poetry in motion & Poetry in Motion Schools).
This Is Me:
Most forms of multimedia are covered by This Is Me; including film and video making.
Trash Fashion:
Fashion, recycling and environmental concerns are the focus of Trash Fashion.
Side By Side:
The last of our projects encompasses all of the other workshops,as it focuses primarily on groups with disabilities.
Inter Nos ('Between Ourselves'):
multi-cultural project - offering connections through arts-based workshops.
Murals:
Community murals - with an emphasis on narrowing divisions and creating shared spaces.
Re-Imaging Communities:
Communities public art - supporting communities to identify socially-polarising images and graffiti and produce new positive pieces of public art for all.
