Launch of Poetry in Motion 2008 - 08/04/2008
The Belfast Poetry Cup took place on Thursday 8th May. It followed a set by Poet in Residence at Londons' South Bank Arts Centre, Lemn Sissay, who appeared as part of the Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival.

Launch of Poetry in Motion 2008 - 06/03/2008
New Belfast Community Arts Initiative has launched Poetry in Motion 2008, an exciting verbal arts programme open to participants of all abilities from schools and communities across Belfast.
This year is a process of renewal for this literature project, as we wish to harness the growing application of information technology within the arts and the rise of performance-based poetry. Therefore participants’ poems will be performed, audio-recorded, collected in an audio anthology, and featured on dedicated website pages. Thus the creativity of Belfast-based communities will reach a wider audience in the city and beyond.
Poetry in Motion will run between March and July 2008, and will end with finale events in high profile venues in Belfast.
