New Belfast would like to thank Nath Bros - NV Clothing & Gino for sponsoring this year’s programme by providing much needed clothes, fabrics and accessories.
Belfast-based community groups are now busy learning a variety of techniques to transform and personalise second-hand materials and create fashionable garments.
Participants will present their creations in a professionally-staged fashion show at the Waterfront Hall in March.

Trash Fashion again proved to be one of the children and young people’s favourite projects.
Young participants from youth and community centres across Belfast worked with professional fashion designers to create their own original ‘eco-friendly’ outfits inspired by a variety of themes and styles.
The South Belfast Eagles hand-made their own cheerleading costumes to the theme of Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. Young people from Marrowbone Youth Club, Fortwilliam Youth Centre, Newhill Youth Club and The Centre created their unique clothing inspired by the latest trends in fashion, music and youth culture. A group of girls at Woodvale Community Centre worked on the design for their St Valentine’s prom dresses.
These groups showcased their creations in fashion shows in their centres and also in a final large-scale fashion show at the Waterfront Hall which brought together young creative talents from different communities.
